Residential Estates is proud to sponsor Alfie, one of the most exciting young tennis players emerging from North Wales. His journey began during the 2020 lockdown when, at just 10 years old, he picked up a racquet for the first time. With no access to formal training, Alfie practiced relentlessly throughout lockdown, laying the foundation for what has become a promising and rapidly progressing tennis career.
Alfie’s dedication paid off in 2022 when he earned a place representing North Wales in the County Cup as part of the Under-12 team. He continued to rise through the ranks, playing again for North Wales in both the 2023 and 2024 County Cups at the Under-14 level. Now at the Under-16 level, Alfie is currently ranked number two in North Wales, trailing the top player by just 100 points - a gap he’s determined to close!
Alfie doesn’t just compete locally - he travels across the UK to play in high-level tournaments and is now looking to take the next big step by entering competitions through the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to gain experience on the international stage.

On 28th June, Alfie was crowned the Play Your Way To Wimbledon Champion! Although it was a tough tournament, Alfie used the same grit and passion that has defined his career so far.
Beyond the court, Alfie is a passionate fan of the game. He watches every Grand Slam tournament with enthusiasm and admiration. His tennis heroes include Novak Djokovic, whose mental toughness and all-court game inspire him, and Aryna Sabalenka, whose power and intensity he finds motivating. His favourite venue to compete at so far has been the Nottingham Pro Court, a setting he describes as challenging and inspiring.
