What is Serviced Short Term Accommodation?

You are essentially letting a property, generally a flat or apartment, out on a short-term basis, anywhere between 2 nights up to 3-6 months, though for a number of reasons we normally stipulate a minimum of 2 nights. So instead of a buy-to-let that you might let out on a 6 or 12 month tenancy,  you may let your serviced accommodation apartment for a few nights, a weekend, or even several months to contractors or corporate guests. Corporate clients are companies that will let your apartment for their employees who are travelling into the area for business, generally they prefer the flexibility and privacy you get with a serviced apartment rather than staying in a hotel.

The types of property used for short term lets tend to generate much higher returns than if you let it out as a long term buy to let because the rates charged per night will be proportionately greater than what you would set for a 6 or 12 month tenancy.
