The Chester Christmas market is back again in 2019 and it promises to be as eventful and fun as ever, with festive stalls and food set in the magical centre of the historic city.
Chester has always been a lovely place to visit. The historic walls and Jacobean architecture from the Tudor-revival period of the 19th century offer a beautiful backdrop for a winter walk but the Christmas markets make it even more pleasurable. The Christmas Markets are coming into their 7th year in Chester and if you are planning on visiting the city for the first time or you love the winter markets and want to come back, you should look into renting a short-term apartment let to make Chester feel like your short break home from home.
At Residential Estates we have built up a portfolio of short-term apartments in Chester that are the perfect getaway if you are looking to visit the Christmas Markets. There is so much to see and do in Chester aside from the markets and we have carefully chosen the perfect locations for our short-term let Chester apartments to ensure that you are close to all of the attractions, events and of course, the markets.
For the first time in 7 years, the Christmas Markets in Chester will open on a Saturday instead of a weeknight, and with them being this year located in the centre of the city, it promises to be an exciting time of year for all involved. The Chester Christmas Markets are a festive, warm and welcoming affair, with over 70 stalls and chalets. The traditional wooden chalets create a magical winter wonderland of a festive village. In the very centre of it all is a 40ft Christmas tree, and when you look at this from a short distance away with the town hall and Chester cathedral in the background, it is a stunning picture-perfect postcard shot.
The stalls and chalets are a wonderful way to see the city, and you can expect to pick up plenty of Christmas gifts ready for your friends and loved ones. Arts and crafts, festive products, toys for the children and stocking fillers from many a varied Christmas stall all tempt the senses. On top of festive gifts, there is a wide range of food stalls serving hot food like burgers, hot dogs, hog roast, sweets, treats, fudge, and hot seasonal drinks including mulled wine. There is no better way to get into the Christmas spirit than sitting in an outdoor chalet with a mug of mulled wine and a tasty hog roast in a soft bap.
The market will begin in Town Hall Square on Saturday November 16th. The Christmas lights will be switched on on the 21st of November, making it a definite destination to add to the diary.
